The birth of Prince Siduhath, who was born in the month of Vesak 2500 years ago, becoming a Buddha, the passing away of the Supreme Buddha, we call it the Vesak festival. This festival which brings peace and happiness is greatly celebrated by the Buddhist people. Oil lamps and Vesak lanterns are lit at night.
